It's a known fact among all of us. If an object fits inside the tube, then it's too small for a young child. To help develop this, parents should avoid very structured learnings because they grow.

Sonya Myers
Greetings!
CCA and B Publishing is looking for Atlanta-based artists to participate in a community project in conjunction with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. We would like for any interested artists to decorate Christmas ornaments for a Christmas tree in the Fox Theatre on Sunday, November 20th, 2011, which will be part of the premiere of An Elf’s Story, based on the best-selling children’s Christmas Book The Elf on the Shelf®. As previously mentioned, this event will be a fundraiser for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and 100% of the net proceeds will be donated back to them, and the ornaments will be donated to Children’s after the premiere. Therefore, these ornaments will serve a dual purpose of giving exposure to the artists that participate and also make the Christmas season a very special one for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta patients.
If you have any interest at all, please contact me at sonya@elfontheshelf.com with your name and information. And if you know of anyone else who might be interested, we would appreciate if you passed along the word about this community art project!
Many thanks,
Sonya Myers

Expedition Give - Charity Scavenger Hunt in Atlanta - September 10th
Kathleen Lawder
Think of Expedition Give as The Amazing Race with a unique charity twist. In this five-hour scavenger hunt, teams of two will race throughout Midtown collecting items, taking pictures, and completing mini community service projects to earn points (Lazarus Ministries is one of our partner charities this year)! At the end of the race, the teams with the most points take home over $5,000 in prizes including 50,000 Delta SkyMiles, a weekend stay at the Beau Rivage Resort and Casino in Mississippi, a sky diving experience for two, restaurant gift certificates, event tickets, and more. Sign up as a group (5 or more teams of two) and your group can win additional prizes.
If running the race doesn't suit your fancy, we can't pull it off without amazing volunteers to help us manage and run the check-points along the course. To find out more about participating or volunteering, visit www.ExpeditionGive.com
PS. Enter the discount code TRINITY before August 27th for 50% of of your team's registration fee!

Stephanie
Now that Softball is over, your Monday nights might feel a little sad and lonely. A group of us who were going through softball withdrawals have decided to supplement our lives with a bit of Soccer. We're looking for others interested in joining our soccer pick-up games! No prior experience or skills required! It's just going to be a fun, relaxed gathering of people kicking a ball around.
The idea: Weekly Pick-Up Soccer games on Monday evenings (around 7:30pm)
The final location is still TBD. So far, we've met at Adair Park I (in SW Atlanta), but it could be moved to a more convenient, better equipped field easily.
As of now, we have too few people committed for full scrimmage games. It'd be nice to have enough to regularly do at least six-a-side matches, if not more people. Shoot me a message if you're interested!

Plywood Presents Event
Erin Levin
Plywood brings together cultural creatives and social entrepreneurs both local to Atlanta and around the nation together for one inspiring day. Every presenter is bound to bring a provoking idea that will change business as usual or a story of hope influencing lives today. Our content always airs on the side of implementation and bringing your idea to life. While presenters are always great, often times the best element is the participants, whom could all be presenters. The collaborative conversations are endless and the projects that emerge from new relationships are eminent. Take a look at who is presenting this year at Plywood Presents, if you don’t know who they are today it is a good thing because they are all defining tomorrow.
